Classic Fiction Lovers reads well-loved books from around the world. The discussions are lively. Above all, new members are always welcome. On February 16th, the group is celebrating African American History Month by discussing Quicksand and Passing. Both books were written by Harlem Renaissance writer, Nella Larsen. She published the books in 1928 and 1929. Since then, Larsen became known as an important figure in American Modernism.

Meeting on the third Sunday of every month, the Alexandria Literacy Fiction Meetup Group discusses literary fiction. It draws avid readers. However, everyone is welcome to share their thoughts. Join the discussion on February 21st. Participants will discuss Shuggie Bain. A 2020 Booker Award-winner, it tells the story of a lonely boy who grows up in poverty in Glasgow, Scotland.

DC True Crime and Mysteries Club 

To figure out whodunit, join the DC True Crime and Mysteries Club. The monthly meetings focus on both real and fictional crime and unsolved mysteries. The February discussion will cover Killers of the Flower Moon. A New York Times bestseller, it highlights a crime that occurred during the beginnings of the FBI. Released in 2020, the book is recognized by Time and the Wall Street Journal, among others.
