District Wharf is an exciting destination that spans along the Potomac River. It’s where you’ll find an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants and can also enjoy exciting events throughout the year. Here are some of the top spots and shops at District Wharf near our Kingstowne apartments.
Kirwan’s on the Wharf
Step into Kirwan’s, where Irish native Mark Kirwan enjoys sharing his heritage. He achieved his restaurant dream by hiring eight carpenters who flew over from Ireland. They also brought along the tile, tables, photographs, and other furnishings. The restaurant comes complete with three bars, each with its own unique setting. In the kitchen, the creative culinary team partners with local producers and only sources the finest, freshest ingredients. Menu offerings include shepherd’s pie, bangers & mash, and fish & chips, for example.
Martha Spak Gallery
As an artist, Martha Spak is best known for her serene abstracts and ethereal landscape paintings. Her work has appeared on several television shows like House of Cards and House Hunters Renovations. Martha opened her gallery in 2017. Today, she highlights her work as well as curates monthly exhibitions by local artists. The selection often changes and may include photographs, paintings, and sculptures sure to enhance any room of your home.
Shop Made In DC
True to its name, Shop Made in DC features the work of local creators. Founders Michael Babin and Stacey Price enjoy supporting the community. They partner with over 200 makers and offer a quality selection featuring nearly 5,000 goods. Items may include jewelry, furniture, and home decor. What’s more, you can shop in person or order online for shipping or curbside pickup.
